Dear Readers, We are sharing Daily Current Affairs Update of 1st September 2018. GST Revenue, Asian Games 2018(01st September), Launch of India Post Payment Bank and Asia Cup 2018 are today’s main events.

GST Revenue:
Total gross GST revenue collected in August 2018 is Rs.93,960 crore of which CGST is Rs.15,303 crore, SGST is Rs.21,154 crore, IGST is Rs. 49,876 crore (including Rs. 26,512 crores collected on imports) & Cess is Rs. 7,628 crore (including Rs. 849 crores collected on imports).

New Appointment:
India's aerospace giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) appointed R Madhavan as its Chairman and Managing Director for five years. The 56-year-old replaced T. Suvarna Raju.

Asian Games 2018(01st September):
India's Amit Panghal wins gold medal in Men's 49 kg Boxing final

India's Pranab Bardhan and Shibhnath Sarkar win gold in Bridge final event.

India's women's squash team wins silver after losing to Hong Kong in the final.

Indian Men's Hockey team beat Pakistan by 2-1 to win the bronze medal.

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announces Rs 1 Cr cash reward for each of the four Odisha hockey players - Sunita Lakra, Namita Toppo, Lilima Minz and Deep Grace Ekka who were part of the Indian women's hockey team that won the silver medal at the Asian Games 2018.

IT Returns:
Filing of Income Tax Returns registers an upsurge of 71% up to 31st August, 2018. The total number of ITRs e-filed up to 31st Aug was 5.42 crore as against 3.17 crore upto 31 Aug 2017.

Launch of India Post Payment Bank:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches India Post Payments Bank (IPPB). IPPB will have 650 branches and 3250 Access Points across the country. All the 1.55 lakh Post Offices in the country will be linked to the IPPB system by December 31.

Asia Cup 2018:
Indian cricket team for Asia Cup 2018 - Rohit Sharma(C), Shikhar Dhawan (VC), KL Rahul, AT Rayudu, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni, Dinesh Kartik, Kuldip Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Y Chahal, Akshar* Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumra, Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed

Cricket Match:
Indian captain Virat Kohli became the second fastest batsman of the country, after Sunil Gavaskar, to reach the milestone of 6000 Test runs.

Obituaries:
Jain Muni Tarun Sagar passed away this morning in Delhi. He was 51 years old.
