Dear Students, from today(29th August 2018) onwards, we will update daily Current Affairs(GK) in English as well as in Hindi language. Asian Games 2018, RBI Annual Report 2017-18 and Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj Visit to Cambodia are the mains events of today's Current Affairs.

Asian Games 2018(29th August):
In Asian Games 2018, India's Swapna Barman wins gold in Women's Heptathlon event.

India's Arpinder Singh wins gold medal in men's triple jump at Asian Games 2018.

In Asian Games 2018, Dutee Chand wins a silver medal in women's 200m finals.

In Asian Games 2018, India's Manika Batra and Sharath Kamal get bronze medal in Mixed doubles table tennis after losing to China in semi-finals.

In Asian Games 2018, India beat DPR Korea to enter table tennis mixed doubles semifinals.

In Asian Games 2018, Indian women's hockey team defeat China 1-0 to enter the finals

UP government announced that gold medal winners of Asian Games & Commonwealth Games will be given Rs 50 Lakh,silver medal winners will be given Rs 30 Lakh&bronze medal winners will be given Rs 20 Lakh. They'll also be offered jobs as gazetted officers.

Madhya Pradesh government has announced Rs 75 lakh for Asian Games silver medalist Archer Muskan Kirar.

Haryana Government will give Rs 3 crore to gold medal winners, Rs 1.5 crore to silver &Rs 75 lakhs to bronze medal winners in Asian Games 2018. Government also will offer HPS(Haryana Police Services) or HCS( Haryana civil services) job to gold medalists & class 1 Govt job to silver medalists in Asian Games 2018.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Visit Nepal:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Kathmandu on a 2-day visit on Aug 30-31 to participate in 4th BIMSTEC Summit.  He will have interactions with leaders of BIMSTEC to further enrich regional cooperation,enhance trade ties & advance collective efforts to build peaceful Bay of Bengal region.

Union Cabinet approves an additional 2% hike:
Union Cabinet approves an additional 2% hike in dearness allowance for central government employees with effect from 1st July 2018.

RBI Annual report for the year 2017-18:
RBI Annual report for the year 2017-18 states,"Implementation of GST achieved another important milestone towards an efficient indirect tax structure. On the external front, the current account deficit was comfortably financed with accretions to foreign exchange reserves."

RBI Annual Report 2017-18 states, "Domestic financial markets were broadly stable,with rallies in equity markets&intermittent corrections, hardening bond yields,the rupee trading with a generally appreciating bias except towards close of the yr&ample liquidity in money markets"

Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj holds bilateral talks with Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh.
